Glasatelier Columbus
About us
The history of Glasatelier Columbus is a very natural story. About 10 years ago I was a real estate agent and became pregnant. I had no intention of doing nothing during my maternity leave. I was looking for a fun hobby. After some trials, I came across a do-it-yourself course for stained glass and that was my eureka moment. I became fascinated by the technique and creative outlet that working with glass provided. My passion for stained glass was born together with my son. Stained glass is very relaxing and creative, working on a design at home in the evening and then working in my workshop in the morning. Connecting creativity and technology. There is a lot to learn and discover about glass. Stained glass is so much broader than you might think. Over the past 10 years I have been constantly working with stained glass. First as a hobby, then for my own home, and soon for clients. Six years ago I enrolled at the Glass Academy led by glass artist Irene van de Does-de Bye in The Hague. Here I further deepened all the knowledge I had acquired in the previous years and after this training I really had the feeling that I had become an expert in the field of stained glass.
