About
Bart, the driving force behind Brand Amsterdam, has embarked on an impressive journey from carpenter to specialist in project management and contracting within the hospitality sector. His passion lies in creating unique experiences for hospitality venues, blending technology and decor to deliver unforgettable experiences. Bart says, "When you enter a Greek or Italian restaurant, but three months later it looks like you're walking through a market in Korea, that's when my heart beats faster."
After his carpentry training, where he learned to appreciate the value of hands-on work, Bart pursued studies in industrial product design. He quickly found his niche in hospitality construction, accumulating twelve years of experience. With Brand Amsterdam, now established for 2.5 years, Bart stands on the brink of a promising future.
The Challenge
Through mutual friends in an entrepreneurial group, Bart had known Rodny for some time and nearly three years ago, they undertook their first project together. From the outset, it was clear that Cutr had a strong network, and despite being in its infancy, the end product was excellent. At that time, Bart needed speed, partly because his structures and management were more ad-hoc. Now, as he embraces his company's growth and the need for structure, Cutr emerges as a valuable partner once again.
One of Brand Amsterdam's most prominent projects is Chun on Spuistraat. The client came to Bart after seeing photos of the Soju bar, also renovated by Brand Amsterdam.
The design ideas for the Chun project stemmed from close collaboration with the client, who had a clear vision for their second location. This vision couldn't be achieved with standard interior builders due to the intricate detail work involved.
The Solution
Given the high level of finishing and attention to detail, the project only had a one-week delay from the planned completion date. Bart was satisfied with this, especially considering the involvement of a designer from Hong Kong, which added some extra time. Overall, it was a fantastic project. Chun is very pleased with the end result, and the process from their side also went very smoothly. The success of this project illustrates the power of collaboration and innovation in Brand Amsterdam's field.
The Future
Bart rates the collaboration with Cutr 4.5 out of 5 stars. The half-point deduction, according to Bart, is because there should always be room to continue growing together. On one hand, Bart values the network that Cutr provides: "Where else can you find a link to hundreds of builders under one umbrella?" On the other hand, he praises the efficiency and structure that the platform offers. Bart sees himself as a creative entrepreneur, which means he doesn't always have the most structured approach. Knowing this is a challenge for him, he is constantly looking for tools to help him work more efficiently. Cutr plays a significant role in this pursuit.
"I want to be a strategic partner for clients, suppliers, and subcontractors, with Cutr playing a key role. This platform enables us to build something together and forge genuine partnerships."
Conclusion
There are already new projects in the pipeline between Brand Amsterdam and Cutr. Bart enjoys delivering a beautiful end product, but he also aims to build as efficiently as possible with Cutr as a partner. He wants to do this in a pleasant and sustainable manner, creating spaces where experiences can flourish.
